I’m not sure that’s fair - in fact, I think another criticism you could level at the double diamond is a lack of “prettiness”. It’s much more Kiki than Bouba and I think the sharpness gives it a bit of a clinical air. The symmetry provides a bit of visual balance but I don’t think aesthetics is a strength. Mind you, nor do I think it’s “theory only” - “have more ideas” or “open your mind” and “it’s time to make some decisions” are useful practical prompts. Likewise, “are we solving the right problem?” is more than just a theoretical conceit. I’m not the biggest fan, but I think there are reasons it’s gained traction - I don’t think they’re aesthetics and it might actually be down to it hinting at useful practical questions. Whether hinting is enough for your context is probably legitimate criticism though 🙂. And thanks for engaging and the critiques.
